Saint Paraskevi is the village church. Completely built of stone in a basilica style, it is said to have been constructed in the early 19th century. Inside, the impressive wooden carved iconostasis and the icon of Saint Paraskevi, located to the left of the entrance to the sanctuary, stand out. Many compatriots and local villagers have donated icons to the church. It was renovated internally in 2000 and externally in 2006.
The church celebrates on July 26th in memory of Saint Paraskevi. Every year, a day-long festival is held with many villagers and others coming from various places to honor the church and to reunite. The festival includes grilled food and an orchestra.
The bell tower was built around the same time as the church and was completed in 1885. It does not have a specific architectural style. It is located in a prominent position, attracting the immediate interest of all who visit Dermati.
The cemetery is located in Vavoula and was built about 100 years ago. Previously, it was near the community cafe. Today, there are few graves of our villagers there. The bones of many villagers are kept in the ossuary next to the cemetery.
